In the Humanities Department, we seek to understand the profound questions what it
means to be human, while exploring questions about conflict, injustice, inequality,
as well as questions of beauty and meaning. We push the boundaries of humanistic studies
into the natural environment and into the digital realm.
Our Creative Arts, American Studies, Liberal Arts, and Religious majors and minors
think cross-culturally and critically about these topics. Our Liberal Studies Teacher
Preparation majors work to become teachers of K-8 grade students, with a foundation
in humanistic study.
If you're curious about different cultures, art forms, religions, both within the
U.S. and across the globe; if you're wondering about the ways that technology is changing
human life; or if you're anxious to understand humanity's relationship to the ecosystems
we share with other living beings, come take a class with us or join one of our majors!
Our department couldn't be as successful as it is without your support. We contribute
to student success through various scholarships, programs, workshops, and more. Consider
making a donation to help promote and enhance scholarly success and achievement.
